Cumorah's End of the year promotions

At the end of the school year Cumorah always puts on a fabulous promotion program. I love that it is always centered around our wonderful country. The students wear red, white and blue. Each class sings a patriotic song and recites a poem or something about America and the Founding Fathers. I love how my girls know so many patriotic songs!

Each week during the school year the principal goes to all the classes and teaches the students about a word they call 'Character Counts'. The words are things like respect, loyal, integrity, accountable, courage, dependable. etc. At the program they gave out an award to one student in each class. This award was called the Cumorah Character Award. They had each student vote on the one student in their class who they felt showed all the Character Counts words. For kindergarten Payton won the award! We had no idea she was getting it! We were so proud of her!

Taylor MC'd the program and dressed up like Lincoln. All the kids at Cumorah know and love Taylor! He goes into school a couple weeks before programs to help with the songs. My girls are lucky to have such a fun dad and a dad that has time to come help at school.
